Listed Door Repair

This repair to the front door and frame on a listed building consisted of a detailed measure followed by the cutting and splicing of the bottom of each frame leg onto a bespoke fabricated door cill. The threshold was raised to prevent the ingress of water.

The new jamb sections, bottom rail and muntin were fabricated on site and the lower portion of the door was cut away.

The new sections were cut in and glued up along with replacement lower panels.

Two pack resin ‘timberweld’ was applied to the cracks in the upper panels and after good sanding, the replacement sections were painted with primer, for the client to topcoat at a later date.
