This project involved the exposure of a the original hand made bricks to this cottage fireplace.

Hidden behind a modern plastered facade was this beautiful triple arch brick chimney breast and original fireplace, complete with iron bar for hanging pots and soot marks from the many fires that were lit there, over the years.

Re-pointing was in traditional lime mortar and a new register plate was fabricated and installed to prevent heat loss.

The result is a real feature in the house!
